Formed in 1993, Sister Hazel is an American musical group whose style blends elements of alternative pop, folk, and Southern rock.

The group released its debut in 1994 before moving to the majors for their second album, Somewhere More Familiar, in 1997. The track "All for You" topped the adult alternative charts that summer, nearly reaching the pop Top Ten as well. Its success pushed the album to gold sales status and a Top 50 chart position. Sister Hazel returned in the summer of 2000 with the follow-up album Fortress.

The band came together in the vibrant college town of Gainesville, Florida, and while most local bands never got out of the small city, Sister Hazel's popularity grew in concentric circles until the band was recognized all over the country. The group prides itself on being down to earth, devoting much of their time to fans and charity events.

From million selling records (five number one hits), a popular television variety series, movies and Broadway, Tony Orlando has conquered every facet of show business.

A few weeks after recording "Candida" it became a hit and the song kept climbing the charts till it hit number one. Hoping lightning would strike again, Orlando recorded “Knock Three Times”. The song not only became number one, it was the top song of 1971, selling over six million copies worldwide. The immense popularity of the song is still evident today.

In 1973, he recorded “Tie A Yellow Ribbon Round The Ole Oak Tree”. The song was number one for the year, became Orlando's theme song and grew into an American anthem of hope and homecoming, reunion and renewal.

Orlando remains one of America's best loved personalities. He has been a recipient of three American Music Awards and a People's Choice Award. For outstanding achievements to the entertainment industry, Tony was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1990.

Sara Evans

Date: Thursday, November 30th, 2006
Time: 8:00 PM
Price: $40, $47, $50
Seating Chart: VooDoo Lounge
Reservations: 816-931-3330
Online Reservations: Ticketmaster

Sara Evans is a study in contrasts: a smooth-skinned looker hailed by People magazine as one of the world’s most beautiful people yet one who travels with her three kids; the wife of a politician who prefers farm life to dwelling in a capital city; and a deeply spiritual woman with an occasionally bawdy sense of humor.

Her first album, Three Chords And The Truth, produced by Dwight Yoakam’s then-guitarist Pete Anderson, earned her critical acclaim and even the praises of Country Music Hall of Famer George Jones. Her sophomore album, No Place That Far, featured guest appearances by Vince Gill, Martina McBride, George Jones, Alison Krauss, Dan Tyminski and former O’Kanes member Jamie O’Hara. The title track also brought her first legitimate hit.

Her third album, Born To Fly, took some creative risks, but paid off handsomely, garnering four hit singles, her first double-platinum album and a bevy of awards nominations. Born To Fly was nominated for CMA Album of the Year in 2001, and her follow-up, Restless, received an ACM nomination in the spring of 2005.

With Real Fine Place, she assimilates the components of her multi-faceted personality and musical influences in a package that still manages an impressive consistency. She turned to several pop and rock figures—picking up a song from Sheryl Crow and nabbing the drummer and bass player who appeared on John Mayer’s pop albums—but tackles some of the countriest sounds of her career with the quirky “Coalmine” and the sassy “Cheatin’.” Thematically, she recognizes the attraction of the spotlight in “Roll Me Back” and “These Four Walls” while celebrating the detail of ordinary existence in “Missing Missouri” and “New Hometown.” And she explores independence in the brassy “Momma’s Night Out” while embracing intimacy in the communicative “Tell Me” and the sexual “Secrets That We Keep.”

Real Fine Place’s initial impact only underscores her heightened self-assessment. The album’s first single, the infectious title track, has risen faster than any other hit in her career, skyrocketing to the tops of the country singles charts, and several of the songs began receiving standing ovations in concert from audiences that were only hearing them for the first time.
