WEST WARWICK, R.I. -- It'd be a sweet deal financially for the town of West Warwick if voters approve allowing a casino to open there.
Harrah's Entertainment is promising to give the town one-time payments of $5 million if a casino is approved. On top of that, the company will give the town up to 2 percent of the operation's revenues after 10 years.
That's all outlined in a 75-pagement development agreement released Wednesday.
West Warwick is also receiving a $300,000 signing bonus even if the proposal fails. The question is on the Nov. 7 ballot. |
