Hollywood packs players in for tournaments

BAY ST. LOUIS, Mississippi – (PRESS RELEASE) – It didn't take long for Poker enthusiast to find their way to the newest poker room on the Coast especially since Hollywood Casino launched three weekly tournaments last week. Hollywood's new six-table poker room holds tournaments every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. "No-Limit Hold'em Freeze-Out" tournaments are held at 11:00 A.M. on Mondays and at 10:00 A.M. on Fridays. Players can enter the "No-Limit Hold'em Re-Buy" tournament on Wednesdays at 6:00 P.M. "Players really like the Re-buy tournament because for $10 they can buy more chips to stay in the game," said Troy Barraco, poker room manager for Hollywood Casino.
"The Bad Beat Jackpot for 'Hold'em' is worth more than $20,000, so we're seeing a lot of players in our 'No-Limit Hold'em Freeze-Out' tournaments too," said Barraco. Anyone who would like to learn how to play poker without the risk of playing against other players with live chips can attend free poker lessons in the poker room Monday thru Friday from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.
The Hollywood Casino's new six-table poker room opens everyday at 10:00 A.M. It's not unusual to find poker games running all night long and into the next day. Poker play in Hollywood Casino is also rated, meaning players can earn comps and special rates on hotel guest rooms among other privileges and access to amenities.
Hollywood Casino and Hotel offer 291 guest rooms, 900 new slot machines, 20 unique table games, and a new 6-table poker room. Three restaurants are open, including Tuscany Steaks and Seafood, Jackpot Java, and the all new Epic Buffet. The Bridges Golf Course, the state's only Arnold Palmer Golf Course opened last month and the Bridges Grill is under renovation and will open later this year. The fully renovated casino operation is a land-based facility with 17,000 square feet of function space and nine private meeting rooms. |
