HOW TO CALCULATE THE ODDS OF WINNING CARIBBEAN LOTTO

By Rudy Parker

If you play Caribbean Lotto (6/31) they say you have a 1 in 736281 chances of winning the jackpot. You already know that winning the jackpot means getting all six numbers out of thirty-one. You also know that you could pick the six correct numbers and still do not get the full jackpot. Other players have the same chances as you and if two or more players pick the six winning numbers, well, the jackpot is shared. Seemingly impossible odds but there are lots of jackpots winners, sometimes in the same draw. Remember once person in St. Kitts won millions not too long ago.

First here is how Caribbean Lotto calculates the odds. You will need (1) calculator, (2) pencil or pen, (3) blank paper.

Write on your paper like they are written here:

30 divide by 5 = 6

31 divide by 6 = 5.1666666

29 divide by 4 = 7.25

28 divide by 3 = 9.333

27 divide by 2 = 13.5

26 divide by 1 = 26

Now do your grade 4 math with your calculator and enter the numbers above 31 divide by 6 = 5.1666666. Ignore most of those 6s and use 3 digits behind the decimal. Do this for all. Enter 5.166. Do the same for 30 divide by 5, you get 6, good no digit after the decimal, enter 6 above. I did the rest for you 29 divide by 4 = 7.25; 28 divide by 3 = 9.333; 27 divide by 2 = 13.5; 26 divide by 1 = 26. Very good you are almost there. Transfer the results of the calculations to the graph above on the right sign of the equal sign (see above)

Write the numbers like this on another line on your paper 5.166 x 6 x 7.25 x 9.33 x 13.5 x 26 = 755,068.33. Not quite what CL says? Remember they said 1 in 736821? Why the difference in our calculation and theirs? These numbers behind the decimals we tossed out. If you have time try it again without eliminating them and see what you get.

HOW TO WIN THE JACKPOT

Before we go into winning the jackpot let me clear up some of the nonsense talks I''ve been bearing. Caribbean Lott does not favour any country over another, the numbers are picked randomly by a computer, every ticket has the same odds. The computer does not cheat. The balls are not weighted, the system is fair. Your chances of winning in St. Kitts is the same as players in Barbados, St. Maarten or any country were the ticket is sold. They win more because the have a larger populations and they buy more tickets.

HOW TO WIN

First check the numbers that come up more often. Chose the top 12. Fill out 4 boards using the same 3 numbers only. Take the remaining numbers and fill in randomly the other 3 numbers i.e., if the top 12 numbers are 6, 9, 13, 31, 30, 14, 28, 4, 16, 19, 22, 2, pick 3 numbers as base numbers and put them on all 4 tickets. Suppose you pick 6 13 30 as base, these numbers will go on all 4 tickets. Use the other 9 numbers and enter 3 more numbers randomly on each of the 4 boards. Each board now has 6 numbers with the same three bases on all.

Remember if one person gets all 6 numbers that person wins the Jackpot. If more than one win the winners share equally. If the total is $50,000 and there are 100 winners each gets $500. If 1000 winners each gets $50. Not enough for your celebration party.

This article does not guarantee that you will win. I take no responsibility for any loses you may have.
