Joan Rivers and celebrity impersonators invade the Hollywood Casino at Penn national. Joan Rivers, the wisecracking doyenne of the red carpet, brought a little glitter to the Grantville area as she dropped the occasional F-bomb, interviewed fake celebrities and charmed a crowd that interrupted its slots-playing to see a real celebrity.
Wearing a black pantsuit, sequined blue jacket and blue feather boa, Rivers complimented the new casino's architecture. "It's beautiful -- amazing," she crowed as she looked around and pronounced herself "thrilled, thrilled, thrilled to be here."
Rivers, who jokes about her multiple plastic surgeries and regular Botox injections, impressed the dead-on Bette Midler look-alike, Donna Maxon of Staten Island, N.Y. "Oh my God, she looks beautiful," Maxon gasped.
Before Rivers arrived, Kyle Nelson, 21, of Camp Hill, won the casino's local look-alike contest with his impression of Ben Stiller from "Zoolander."
Casino spokeswoman Lynn Burkholder estimated that the grand opening drew about 10,000 people, one of the casino's busiest nights so far.
