Kansas Speedway signs title sponsors

Kansas Speedway has signed title sponsors for three of its biggest races in 2008. Time Warner Cable is the new title sponsor for the IndyCar Series race on April 27, which will be called the RoadRunner Turbo Indy 300, Kansas Speedway President Jeff Boerger said in a release on Friday. The Kansas Lottery renewed its title sponsorship agreement for the NASCAR Nationwide Series race on Sept. 27, which will be called the Kansas Lottery 300. Kansas Lottery has sponsored the race since 2001 and is the former sponsor of the IndyCar Series race. After a three-year absence, the IndyPro Series will return April 27 for the Hard Rock 100. The Speedway signed an agreement with Las Vegas-based Hard Rock Hotel & Casino to sponsor the race. Boerger said in the release that the return of the Hard Rock 100 is a result of Kansas Speedway and The Cordish Co. partnering on a proposal for a Hard Rock Hotel and Casino overlooking turn two of the track. The companies await approval for the project from the Kansas Lottery Gaming Commission. bizjournals
