Klamath Tribes plan $32 million casino expansion

Associated Press - October 7, 2007 12:25 AM ET

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. (AP) - The Klamath Tribes are planning a $32 million casino expansion project near Chiloquin that will include a larger gambling hall and hotel.

Funding would come partly from a $23 million loan. Revenue from the current Kla-Mo-Ya casino would contribute an additional $9 million to the project, which was approved by the tribes' General Council in July.

Designs call for a 30- to 40-room hotel and expanded casino floor. The current casino would eventually be turned into a convention center for events and concerts.

A date to begin construction hasn't been set. But the first phase is scheduled for completion by December 2009.

And to date not a damn thing has happened - except millions lost in shady development "contracts" that didn't amount to anything.

These tribal administrators are the prime example of Dumb F'ing indians - wasting golden opportunities to realize the same level of profits that other gaming establishments in Oregon are realizing. Pig-headed, selfish, childish actions by a select few have damaged the creditability of the entire tribe.

They couldn't get a loan today if money was growing on trees.

It is exactly 10-1/2 weeks until the end of 2009 and not a shovel's worth of activity has taken place.

Remember the portrayal of the Indians on F-Troop - well these tribal administrators are a spitting image of those actors. Dumb as dirt.
