Korean firm to build casino-hotel in Clark

Casino news from http://www.manilastandardtoday.com:80/ CLARK FIELD—A Korean company will spend some $4 million for the development of a condotel project that is expected to boost employment in this special economic zone, the Clark Development Corp. announced yesterday. CDC president Liberato Laus said the Korean firm Widus International Leisure Inc. will build a 130-unit condotel on a 1.9-hectare property at the Casino Strip on M.A. Roxas Avenue. Laus said he signed the agreement with WILI president Dae Sik Han and about 150 construction workers will be employed to build scenic waterfalls, swimming pool, wellness spa, fine dining restaurant, Korean restaurant, rooftop bar and entertainment and music hall. The condotel is expected to employ at least 80 workers when it commences operations after the project is completed in a year. According to Laus the Korean firm will also develop a water theme park and additional condotel units in the second phase of the project. It will be established in a 1.6-hectare area adjoining the first phase. Phase three, which will be built on a 1.7-hectare, will be the construction of a hotel and casino complex making the whole phase the first casino-hotel project within ecozone. Present during the signing of the lease agreement were CDC executive vice president Philip J.B. Panlilio, vice president for finance Noel Manangkil, chief legal counsel Jose Cornelio Lukban, marketing manager Rafael Galvez, and WILI executive assistant Maricar Manaloto.
