L’Auberge du Lac Honored By Readers of Meetings South Magazine, The Times of Southwest Louisiana and Southern Gaming Magazine

Casino resort named ‘Best Of’ in numerous categories including Best Overall Property, Best of the South and Best Place to Gamble
LAKE CHARLES, La. — L’Auberge du Lac Hotel & Casino, a $370 million Texas Hill Country-themed resort in Lake Charles, La. which opened in May 2005 is garnering top honors from guests for its wide array of amenities and excellent customer service.
Meetings South magazine recently named L’Auberge Best of the South. The national publication asks its meeting planner readers to vote via mail-in ballot on an annual basis for their favorite properties at which to hold meetings and conferences. The awards are based on the following criteria: quality of meeting space; guest rooms; guest services; amenities; food and beverage service; high-tech services; recreational facilities; efficiency and helpfulness of staff; and overall value and experience. Southern Gaming and Destinations Magazine honored L’Auberge in numerous top categories during its 2006 Best of Southern Gaming Awards. L’Auberge competed against gaming properties in Lake Charles, New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Florida and all along the Gulf Coast to win the designation of Best Overall Property.
The resort casino also took top honors in the following categories: Best Rooms; Best Buffet for Le Beaucoup Buffet; Best Restaurant for Snake River Grill; Best Spa for Spa du Lac; Best Golf Course for Contraband Bayou Golf Club; and Best Promotions. L’Auberge posted second-place honors in the categories of Best Pool, Best Entertainment and Best Theme. The competition is always fierce when The Times of Southwest Louisiana holds its annual readers poll. In 2006, L’Auberge came out on top in numerous key categories. The property was named Best Casino and Best Place to Gamble by the publications readers. Jack Daniel’s Bar & Grill took top honors as the Best Bar Overall and in the categories of Best Live Music and Best Beer Variety.
Contraband Bayou Golf Course earned a second-place nod from readers as the Best Place to Play Golf and Jack Daniel’s Bar & Grill was a finalist in the Best New Restaurant category. The awards are featured in the publications September 6th issue.
