LONESTAR AT MIGHTY M GAMING
Lonestar - Multiplatinum-selling group Lonestar will take the stage for a special performance at Mighty M Gaming at Monticello Raceway on July 22.
The group, that has earned ten #1 hits, Vocal Group of the Year honors from the Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music and six Grammy nominations, will take the stage at 7.30 pm.
Festivities at Monticello Raceway will begin hours earlier the same day with four featured bands – The Carl Richards Band, River’s Edge, Fiddlin’ Around and Somerville – playing throughout the afternoon, beginning at 2.00 pm.
It is all part of Thunderfest, another installment in Thunder 102’s summer concert series, and the birthday celebration at Mighty M Gaming at Monticello Raceway.
Lonestar’s latest album, Coming Home, was released September 2005 and includes the hit “You’re Like Comin’ Home.” This year the band has ramped up the show’s lighting and production to make it their best yet.
In addition to the new production, the band has incorporated five new songs from Coming Home as well as performing fan favorites spanning their career including: “Mr. Mom,” “My Front Porch Looking In,” “I’m Already There,” “Waking In Memphis,” “No News” and “Amazed.”
Lonestar has received an array of honours recognisng their humanitarian efforts for their work to benefit several charities, including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis. Most recently, Lonestar helped entertain the country’s leaders at the White House in Washington DC during the televised “An American Celebration at Ford’s Theatre: The July 4th Special.”
