Lightning Strike Knocks Out Casino's Power
Lightning from Wednesday night's storms brings the fun at Speaking Rock to an early end.
Thursday, September 14, 2006 — Casino-goers had a brief scare after a lightning strike in the Mission Valley knocked out the power at Speaking Rock Casino Wednesday evening.
A bolt of lightning hit the casino's main electrical transfer switch. Employees escorted more than 100 customers out of the dark building before they closed for the night. No one was hurt.
The power is expected to be up by the time the casino opens Thursday. If you were one of the many customers playing slot machines at the casino Wednesday night, you will not lose out on any of the points you may have won when the power went out. |
