LOTTERY TICKET SALES SURPASS $3 BILLION; Families and students continue to win! Friday, March 09, 2007 NASHVILLE - The Tennessee Lottery announced today that gross ticket sales have surpassed $3 billion. “The momentum created during our first few months continues,” said Rebecca Paul Hargrove, President and CEO. “We’re looking forward to making our next contribution to the Lottery for Education Account at the end of this quarter, which will boost the amount raised for education to over $800 million.” In addition to the $3 billion sales milestone, the Tennessee Lottery recently announced several new developments, including: •“Million $ Madness,” a raffle-style game with a limited number of tickets. Odds to win $1 million are the best ever at 1 in 200,000. The Lottery will award four prizes of $1 million each, in addition to other cash prizes. •“Play it Again!” a program designed to reduce litter and give instant ticket players a second chance to win. The Tennessee Lottery began selling its first tickets on January 20, 2004.
