MA. Residents to Soon See Large Group Casino Opposition

Over the next few days, Massachusetts residents can expect to see a visible push to prevent casinos from coming to the state.
Gambling opponents are pushing to capitalize on Governor Deval Patrick's low-key effort to push his proposal to bring the gaming houses to the Bay State. Church groups, local political groups and the League of Women Voters are sponsoring dozens of anti-gambling forums across the state.
Governor Patrick has held no major public events since unveiling the proposal in September. The Boston Globe says the Governor may not even attend a legislative hearing concerning the issue on December 18th. |
