Two Canadian men are suing a Manitoba casino after they scored a jackpot on a nickel slot machine, which the machine valued at more than CAD $209,000. At the center of their claim, is that the casino staff refused to pay them their winnings.
The casino is claiming that the winnings are not valid, as they were caused by a software glitch. "This type of malfunction is very rare and it's unfortunate that the machine was being played and it malfunctioned like it did."
The men's lawyers do not agree. "It's our position that it's not a mistake that my clients should be paying for, if it was a mistake." Independent testing of the machine is pending to verify or disprove the claims of the casino.
