BELLEVILLE, Ill. (AP) _ A Metro East attorney says he hit the jackpot while vacationing in the Virgin Islands, but the casino isn't paying up.

Alvin Paulson of Fairview Heights says he put $20 into a slot machine at the Ocean Club Gaming Center in the Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort on the island of St. Thomas and won $5.15 million.

He says he still had $16.50 in credits left on the machine.

But according to his St. Clair County lawsuit, Paulson says an employee turned off the machine.

Paulson says the site's manager claimed there must have been some mysterious malfunction or technical problem, and that the resort has refused to pay.

The resort hasn't replied to e-mail requests for an interview about the matter.
