The first is that Beloit officials have found out the local application is number two in line for consideration. Beloit City Manager Larry Arft says an application for a casino in New York is the only one ahead of Beloit's. Arft says the next development is actual movement in the review process. He says undersecretaries in the Bureau of Indian Affairs are reviewing the application. Prior to this, he says, it has been reviewed by staff. And finally, Arft says, a new tribal chair for the St. Croix band of Chippewa was elected recently. He says Hazel Lindsley remains solidly behind the application. Arft says unfortunately there is still no clear timeline on when a decision is to be made.
