PROVIDENCE – The first multi-state video lottery game has arrived, bringing together the lotteries of Rhode Island, Delaware and West Virginia.

The game, called Ca$hola, has a progressive jackpot that starts at $250,000 and builds until it is won. It now has an annuity value of more than $540,000 and is expected to reach an average of $1 million per month.

The game can be played with pennies, nickels or quarters, depending on the state; it is now available at tracks in the three states.

Each state has previously operated progressive jackpots, but this game is the first that links VLTs from different manufacturers and central computer systems in more than one state.

Each machine offers two parts of the game: One gives odds and payouts thatl vary by jurisdiction and the othe is the common progressive jackpot. Tto play for the jackpot, players must select the "maximum bet" option, at $2.25 per play; the odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 7 million.
