Musiq Soulchild debuted in 2000 with the brilliant "Aijuswanaseing," and followed that with "Juslisen" and "Soulstar."
He quickly became known for creating the supplest R&B sounds, with ear-caressing tracks that blend old school soul fervor with new school hip-hop rhythms.
His latest album, "Luvanmusiq" is "basically to reintroduce myself," he says. "I've been away for a little while. The industry's changed and so have I, personally, mentally, psychologically. I look at my previous three albums as grade school, middle school, and high school. Now with this new album, it's like I'm going off to college. And college never sounded so good."

Appearing with Musiq Soulchild will be twenty-three year old singer, songwriter, composer Chrisette Michele, who is celebrating the release of her debut album "I Am."
"I realize that I'm new to the music world, but I've been preparing for this moment for long time," she says.
Though already a fan of gospel and classical, it wasn't until Chrisette was 17 that she also developed a passion for jazz. "When I was still in high school a teacher introduced me to jazz singer Astrud Gilberto, and afterwards my life was all about jazz."
Majoring in music at 5 Towns College in Long Island, Chrisette cites the nurturing sway of her teachers for where she is today. "Although I did have talent, often that is not enough," she says. "My professors taught me how to be a professional and to be serious about my music. They taught me how to put the music that I dream about at night on paper in the morning."
