NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. Officials at the Seneca Indian casino in Niagara Falls, New York are hoping the tough new anti-smoking laws across the border in Canada will result in more revenues at their gaming tables and slot machines.

The new laws that went into effect last month in Ontario and Quebec extended Canada's ban on smoking in workplaces to include public area such as bars, restaurants and schools.

That includes the two casinos in Niagara Falls, Ontario, where outdoor smoking terraces have been built to accommodate smokers.

At the Seneca Niagara Casino on the U-S side of the border, separate gambling and dining areas have been set up for smokers and nonsmokers.

Seneca Niagara officials say it's too early to tell if Canada's tougher smoking ban has had an impact yet on the casino, but they say it's something they're watching with interest.
