HOUSTON (AP) - Nevada Gold & Casinos Inc. said Friday it named Robert B. Sturges as chief executive officer, effective immediately, to succeed H. Thomas Winn, who will remain chairman.
Sturges was retained as a special consultant to the company in June. He spent more than 15 years with Carnival Resorts & Casinos and Carnival Corp., including as president of Carnival's gaming division.
Sturges is currently a board member of teppanyaki-style Asian restaurant chain operator Benihana Inc., serving as lead independent director, as well as a member of the audit, compensation and executive committees.
Nevada Gold develops, owns and operates gaming facilities and lodging entertainment facilities in Colorado, California, and New York.
