Casino news from http://www.saskatoonhomepage.ca/ , 25 October 2006 The new casino at Whitecap Dakota First Nation will be second to none in Western Canada. That from Zane Hansen who is the acting C-E-O of the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority and says the facility will be a destination casino with thematic designs that reflect surrounding lands as well as First Nations traditions. Driving down Highway 219 to Dakota Dunes you'll now see spotlights from the highway. Hansen says the spotlights were put up recently at the site of the new casino and the lights actually form a teepee effect. The casino is 35 to 40 percent finished and inside you would see a lot of the flooring complete with some of the interior partitions now up. The new facility is expected to open October 2007 with the building actually complete next summer allowing for time to install machines and train staff.
