Gambling news from http://abclocal.go.com/

It's the brand new Harrah's racetrack, a multi-million dollar project that is off and running.
A pair of trotters tested the new track in Chester on Monday, a key part of a 30-million dollar investment by one of the world's largest gambling empires.

Harrah's in Chester, which encompasses 60 redeveloped acres in Delaware County, will open for harness racing next month. The property will contain a mammoth slot parlor to follow early in the New Year.

Harrah's does not expect to make a big load on the ponies; the slots are projected to provide the jackpot. Harrah's expects roughly 10-thousand gamblers there a day for live racing, simulcasting, and the one-armed bandits. The final touches including the grandstands infield and parking lots are moving along at a feverish pitch.

Projections are that the racetrack and casino will generate 10-million dollars in revenues for the City alone, and roughly the same for Delaware County.

Ultimately this will mean 900 new jobs in Chester, long one of PA's most severe urban basket cases. Harrah's says hiring local folks is a corporate priority.
