NEW JERSEY – As reported by the New Jersey Star Ledger: "Vincent Giblin, chairman of the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority, was arrested Sunday night in Spring Lake after his wife called police and reported a domestic dispute, authorities said.
"Spring Lake police arrested Giblin a few blocks from his Vroom Avenue home, where he was stopped in his car by officers in a neighboring municipality, according to Capt. Marc Evangelista. Giblin was charged with simple assault against his wife and ordered not to have contact with her or return to his home until after a July 19 court appearance.
"Giblin's three-year term as chairman of the CRDA, the powerful agency that collects and distributes casino taxes for economic development and community projects both in Atlantic City and around the state, ended in June. Earlier this year, he said he would seek reappointment to his $23,000-a-year post by Gov. Jon Corzine.
"…Giblin is scheduled to answer the simple assault charge, which carries a maximum sentence of six months, on July 19 in Spring Lake Municipal Court." |
