New Orleans Resident Claims $600,000 Powerball Prize
Freddie J. Nettles of New Orleans claimed a $600,000 prize at the Louisiana Lottery Corporation's headquarters as a result of a winning Powerball ticket from the Oct. 20 drawing.
Nettles' ticket matched all five white balls drawn to win his prize.
When Nettles, age 59, purchased his winning ticket at Gentilly Spur on Gentilly Boulevard in New Orleans, he added the Power Play option to his ticket for an additional $1. When the Power Play number "3" was selected during the drawing, his $200,000 prize was multiplied by three, bringing his total winnings to $600,000.
The winning numbers for the Oct. 20 Powerball drawing were 10-11-37-40-54 and the Powerball number was 10.
Gentilly Spur will receive a one-time bonus of $6,000, one percent of the prize, for selling Nettles his winning ticket.
