Casino news from http://www.bernama.com.my/ The Johor government will not allow a casino to be built in Danga Bay here or anywhere else in the state. State Tourism and Environment Committee chairman Freddie Long said Johor would not follow the footsteps of Singapore, which is building two casinos at its integrated tourist centre to draw more tourists to the island republic. Speaking to reporters after the weekly state executive council meeting Wednesday, he said the state government had its reasons for rejecting such a proposal but declined to reveal them. Long was asked to comment on a recent news report from The Edge which suggested that the government build a casino in Danga Bay, which would be more popular because it would have entertainment centres and hotels which could offer cheaper rates than those in Singapore.
