Casino gambling taxes the ignorant
Your voice: Pete Shockey
Several years ago one of my squadron's flight instructors left his wife and children when he went absent without leave, thereby ending his 18-year military career. Several months later, he was arrested for shoplifting in Las Vegas, where he was trying to make a living by gambling.
We lost a good instructor, his wife lost a husband and provider, and the kids lost a dad.
This family joined the growing number of victims whose lives have been brutally torn apart by gambling. As the issue of casinos in Kentucky is debated, we must remember gambling's devastating impact on those least able to afford it. But let's also consider its impact on bankruptcy, unemployment and small businesses.....
....Be smart, Kentucky, by rejecting this "tax on ignorance." Say no to casino gambling.

Not to be an instigator, but how many have been lost to the Air Force?
