As you prepare for your trip be sure to check out the web site for your directions from various locations. You may want to take into consideration whether you like four-lane interstate type driving or if you prefer the two lane over the hills and through the woods to the casino we go route. Traveling from Indiana the bypass around Cincinnati to exit 16 worked nicely. (We possibly avoided "deer traffic" which might have been heavier on the two lane route.) LOL!
Only a short distance from the interstate exit, a few traffic lights, and a short distance along the levy and we were there.
The entry that we used was through the hotel. I was glad we were able to see the facility it was quite impressive, with many nostalgic items and a beautiful aquarium. A hostess was available in the lobby to check people in to the casino and provide the little cards with a magnetic strip for you to use to keep track of something. Then it was on to the riverboat. It was a bit of a trek since I use a wheelchair to get around. But after a few elevator rides we arrived at the entrance to the riverboat casino. You could tell because of the high water warning signs. The high water made the transition from the shore to the boat a little rough (bumpy). As you approach the casino unfortunately you could tell you're getting close because of the cigarette smoke in the passageways.
We had an interesting gaming experience. Being a big gambler I went to the nickel slots. When I hit the 2000 credit level I didn't know that was a big win until I got home and read more about it. Instead I continued to play hoping to "hit it big". Another member of our party went to the table's. Blackjack was kind-for a while. Before we were finished we gave everything back except the good time.
The seafood buffet was definitely superior to most and the desert component was even better.
It seemed that this casino was more sympathetic to smokers than nonsmokers. Non-smokers were restricted to limited areas and even those weren't very well ventilated. If you have any breathing problems this could be a breathtaking experience. I would suggest caution before going down or up to this casino.
Never saw the water!
Good Luck!
