A Pearisburg man hit it big on the Virginia Lottery, winning the $500,000 top prize in the "Hit the Jackpot" scratch game.
The Virginia Lottery says Bill Conley is the first person to win the top prize, but this isn't the first time he's won money in the lottery. He has won $500 and $200 prizes in the past.
He bought the big winner at the Time Out Food Mark in Pearisburg.
Conley has worked at a furniture plant for 26 years. He told Lottery officials he plans to use his winnings to start a business with his brother-in-law.
