Pearl River Resort hosts Hwy. 16 lighting ceremony
CHOCTAW, Miss. (Oct. 25, 2006) Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians Chief Phillip Martin "flipped the switch" Wednesday turning on more than 90 street lights on Hwy. 16 between the Tribe's two casino properties, Silver Star and Golden Moon.
"These lights serve as a safety feature to visitors of Pearl River Resort as well as those traveling Highway 16 through Choctaw," Martin explained. "They also add a sense of arrival and beautification to the Resort. This is a nice finishing touch to the Highway 16 four lane project."
There are a total of 93 lights that span 2.5 miles on the Pearl River Reservation between the Philadelphia city limits and Black Jack Road.
