Pearl River Resort opens new Sports Ticker Poker Room
CHOCTAW, Miss. (June 1, 2006) Pearl River Resort officials unveiled the new Sports Ticker Poker Room in a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday.
The resort shifted the poker room from Silver Star Hotel & Casino to the Golden Moon Hotel & Casino Sports Ticker lounge.
The Sports Ticker offers a great environment for our poker players, explained Jay Eubanks poker room manager. We are surrounded by a dozen televisions tuned in to 24 hour sports channels and the Sports Tickers delicious food and beverages are only a few feet away.
John Koetter, vice president of gaming operations for Pearl River Resort, explained the move was to provide better guest service.
Because poker is becoming increasingly popular we felt placing more prominence on our poker room would enhance the overall guest experience at Pearl River Resort, said Koetter. Texas Holdem is one of the most watched events on television today. This move puts the game out front where guests can enjoy watching and learning poker.
The new poker room at Golden Moon offers 14 different live poker tables including a separate room with a table for tournament finals. Games offered in the new poker room include Seven Card Stud, Omaha and the wildly popular Texas Holdem.
