Perry County Player Wins NASCAR® Player’s Choice Racing Trip Prize!

NASHVILLE - Car racing fan Douglas “Pete” Russell of Linden in Perry County is the winner of the NASCAR® Player’s Choice Racing Trip Prize from the Tennessee Lottery’s May 10 NASCAR® Instant Ticket Second-Chance Drawing.
“I was actually on the Tennessee Lottery’s website when my phone rang and it was the Lottery telling me that I had won,” said Russell. “I was so glad I was sitting down!”
Pete, a retiree from AIG American General, is a huge NASCAR® fan and was thrilled with the win. “I participate in a NASCAR® fantasy game at Chick’s Grill in Linden where I have breakfast every morning and where I bought the NASCAR® instant ticket that was drawn,” he said.
In lieu of the Racing Trip Prize, Pete chose the cash equivalent of $7,500. “I hate to fly,” he said. “With the prize money, my wife and I can drive to a NASCAR® race and take our dog Russell with us too!”
The NASCAR® instant ticket game is available at more than 4,700 retailers across the state. Each $2 ticket features one of five drivers, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Matt Kenseth or Kasey Kahne and every non-winning ticket is eligible to be entered into a series of three second-chance drawings. Each drawing will award one Player’s Choice Racing Trip to a NASCAR® sanctioned race for the 2007 or 2008 season. The trip consists of a four-day, three night trip for two, including airfare, hotel, race tickets, two NASCAR® prize packages and $500 cash.
Each drawing will also select 159 Grand Prize Finalists who will receive a NASCAR® Licensed Prize Package. Players can choose from the same five drivers for the theme of their prize package.
