Poker in Utah? Could it be? Well, sort of. Especially with the resurgence of poker popularity in the last few years, particularly Texas Holdem, some people have tried to open poker rooms in Utah, with mixed results. Almost every poker room that has opened has been investigated by state or county officials; some have been shut down, some have had to change their rules. Sandy's Club 90, one of Utah's few poker rooms, had to stop giving patrons entry into poker games for purchasing dinner. Now, they must let people play for free, and winners can collect "points", which can get them into bigger tournaments where they can then win cash prizes. This way, it's not gambling.
