Power Play Brings La Vergne Player $600,000!

NASHVILLE - Congratulations to Dusty Fields of La Vergne in Rutherford County who was Tennessee’s lucky $600,000 Power Play winner from Saturday night’s Powerball drawing. “I always play the Power Play,” stated Fields. “I figure if you’re going to hit, you might as well hit big!” It was that premise that helped Mr. Fields turn a $200,000 win into a $600,000 win Saturday, when he matched five of five and the Power Play drawn was three.
Unaware of his lucky win, Mr. Fields visited the Kangaroo Express on Murfreesboro Road in La Vergne where he purchased his tickets, to claim a smaller prize. “I thought I had only won $9 because of a Powerball match on a different play. When the retailer scanned the tickets, he told me that I had won much more than $9, and that I had to come to the Nashville Lottery office.”
Lottery President & CEO Rebecca Paul Hargrove was available at Lottery headquarters to congratulate the pair and hand them their winning check. And what do the Fields plan on doing with their winnings? “We are going to help out our children and spoil our 2-month old granddaughter,” said Dusty’s wife Barbara. “After that, it all goes into savings.”
