It was a lottery frenzy again on Saturday at Ma & Pa's Grocery Express, 506 S. Main St.
Fond du Lac police were called to the store at about 4 p.m. to deal with a reported traffic jam. Owner Phil Moses said there were 50 to 60 cars in the lot throughout the day and more vehicles parked in lots across the street.
"We pre-printed 5,000 tickets and they were sold out by noon," Moses said. "We sold more tickets this week than the average convenience store sells in a year."
Lottery winner hopefuls were drawn to Ma & Pa's to pick up tickets for Saturday night's $203 million Powerball jackpot.
Known as a lucky spot, the store along the famous "miracle mile" in Fond du Lac sold a winning $208 million ticket on Aug. 5 to 100 workers employed at the Sargento Cheese plant in Plymouth.
Moses said the winners are expected to come forward on Wednesday, Sept. 27, during a press conference scheduled to take place at Ma & Pa's.
"I will have final confirmation and full details from the lottery office on Monday," he said. |
