DELTA DOWNS ANNOUNCES 2007 QUARTER HORSE DATES
- SEASON TO SPAN NEARLY THREE MONTHS -
VINTON, LA. – Delta Downs Racetrack Casino & Hotel has announced its 2007 Quarter Horse Season dates, pending approval by the Louisiana State Racing Commission.
The Vinton, La. oval will conduct 52 days of American Quarter Horse racing from April 19 through July 15, 2007. Live programs will take place each Thursday through Sunday night. Post times will be at 6:20 p.m.
Delta Downs’ Quarter Horse season attracts some of the nation’s top jockeys, trainers and horses annually. In 2005, Make a Secret won the Firecracker Futurity at Delta Downs before posting the fastest qualifying time for the Grade I $2 million All American Futurity at Ruidoso Downs.
Seasonal highlights for next year’s Quarter Horse season at Delta Downs include the MBNA East Regional Challenge, the Firecracker Futurity and Derby, as well as the Lee Berwick Futurity, which was worth a staggering $392,400 in 2006.
