Part of the same resort but judged individually, French Lick Springs Hotel and West Baden Springs Hotel both received the honor. “We are extremely pleased to have earned this award,” said Mark Bommarito, vice president of marketing for French Lick Resort Casino.“It is recognition of the hard work that goes into creating and operating two fine hotels.” AAA’s lodging and restaurant evaluations are conducted by a team of 65 highly-trained professionals who visit properties throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. More than 57,000 lodging establishments and restaurants are evaluated each year. “Only properties that meet strict quality criteria to become AAA Approved receive a AAA Diamond rating,” said Michael Petrone, director, AAA Tourism Information Development. This honor comes on the heels of a number of other honors granted to the resort. Over the summer, the resort was voted one of Indiana’s top tourist destinations by the Indiana Office of Tourism and Development in its Great Indiana Getaway contest. Also, Travelocity named the property in its Local Secrets, Big Finds. Outside of tourism awards, French Lick Resort Casino has also received accolades for its individual amenities and offerings. The property was bestowed the 2007 Best of Southern Gaming award for Best Spa, as voted on by readers of Southern Gaming Magazine. In addition, Successful Meetings magazine presented a 2007 Pinnacle Award to the resort, and an excellent rating was received from Zagat Survey’s 2007-2008 Guide to America’s Top Golf Courses, among other honors.
