Anyone have a favorite strategy for roulette? I've only played online, but it seems to work best when I start small, play something simple like just red or just black, and double the bet each time I lose. For instance, I bet $1 on red, and when it hits black I bet $2, then $4, etc, until it hits on red again. Then I go back to betting $1. Although this sounds simple, I slowly built $40 into over $500 that way.

Wow, pretty good strategy here. I am trying to get more into this game, and this will help me out when I start to play it more often. Thanks for this. Oh ya, I will tell you if I get anything off of this when I use it.

I haven't personally ever played roulette seriously, More of a just passing by kind of thing, if it catches my eye on my way to the poker room, which is in the VERY back of the casino I spend the most time at. I might wander by and bet 20 bux, I either collect the winnings, or leave my 20 lol, but I don't recall ever placing a second bet.

That's a great strategy! I love roulette, but my strategy consists of putting the same bet on the same group of numbers/colour until it comes up and then changing it, along with a few numbers which I usually choose at random - nothing special, but I've made a few quid out of it.

The atmosphere at the roulette table is usually enough to keep me going back, though, even when I'm losing!

I would be interested in hearing if anyone tries my roulette strategy and wins with it. The basis of the strategy, really, is to give yourself the best odds even if it means you only get a small profit each time you win. Increasing your bankroll by several small profits takes longer, but it is safer. When you put money on red each time, for example, you know that the machine is most likely going to hit on red before you go broke, even if you are doubling your bet each time until it does. And since you keep increasing the bet, once you hit red you are still ahead, not back to where you started. The risk, of course, is if you run out of money by doubling before red is hit again, but the odds are still much more in your favor than if you were just betting on one or two numbers on the board. Try it at an online casino using "fun" money if you want, and see how it works for you. Then let me know.

Strangely enough, this strategy does actually work, although you have to set a limit and stick rigidly to it, and learn when to walk away.

What's strange about it is that the odds of hitting red or black are always 50/50 on each spin - the roulette table doesn't know whether the last one was red or black, it has no way of remembering the colour that last came up (same thing with heads or tails on a coin - even if you hit heads 49 times, the next time it's still technically 50/50 which you'll hit).

Still, it works... can't argue with the cash!

It may sound retarded, but I try to get a feel for the numbers. And I know you are not supposed to look at the previous numbers, but I do anyhow.

I don't have any favorites I really play, but my husband does. He loves to play 0/00, 9, and 14. He usually does better than I do unless I am playing the first, second, or third 12. I tend to have the best luck with that. I hardly every play just black or red.

I got this from a taxi driver in Atlantic City take it for what its is worth but has worked for me.

Always bet two of the three end columns (2:1) You are better than 50/50 on the bet and will clear one bet each time you hit. Not sure the real odds of hitting beause of the "0's" .

I tried this one evening as a diversion from the poker tables and it worked very well. Luck? Not sure but his logic seemed right.

(Yes, I had a little too much to drink and was talking casino strategy with a taxi driver at 4 in the morning)

Check out the latest television talk at Media Village

I always forget to play the end columns. I'll never forget the first time I played roulette though. We were at the casino in the afternoon and my friend and I were the only ones at the table. The dealer was great, helped us understand the game and not feel so stupid for not knowing how to play.

Ive developed a new system/method it works because it does not use any of the failed ideas. The only way to win is to study roulette in the right way.

doubling your bet will always fail as a number my not come up in 180 spins.
even if you win "98%" you will lose boig on the 2%

Even a croupier amitted he had never seen anything like it.
Simple easy to learn easy to use
and i believe it is IMPOSSIBLE TO BAN

if any one is interested email (neil@neilchadwick.wanadoo.co.uk)

More info

the system in truth is a betting system witrh a filter ( getts rid of betts that are likely to lose and leaves half of the betts successful on a 1 in 12)

Hey there folks,

I'm a dutchie and new to this forum.
I also use a version of Martingale, which I call postphoned Martingale, but only on single chances, such as color, or even and odd. I usually bet on color, but only after, e.g. one color has occured at least three times in a row, then I place a low bet on the opposite color and continue doing so, using the Martingale system. I know that when you've seen red fallen three times in a row, the odds of red in the 4th draw is still 0.5 or 50 per cent, but the probability of a series of 4 for a color is lower than a series of only 1.
Since many casino's have maximum bets and with Martingale longer series will require huge amounts with which you will have to bet for a small profit, I use my own rule that one colour has to fall at least three times, before I place a bet on the opposite, so that you have at least have a lower possibility of losing the bet, because of a really long series of one colour. I've seen series of 8 times red or black. Though longer series are possible, the odds on that are much smaller. If red 'wins' 7 times in a row and you would have started betting 1 on black, immediately after a red win, than you would have to bet 1,2,4,8,16, 32, 64, dollars or Euros, to win 1 Euro in the end and since I usually play in smaller, free casinos, you can bet 20 at max, I would lose big time when I would have started with betting on black immediately after the last red win, but with my strategy I only have to bet 1,2,4,8,16 to win 1 buck on this streak.
This, in fact, is a strategy that requires lots of time and patience. What I usually do, is repeat this strategy, until I win 10 Euros and play 5 of them on inside bets. This to get awake again with more exciting bets, but also to ensure part of my profits (5), for sure and go for quicker profits with the other part, only putting this part at stake and not the other part of the profit, or the money I started with. Sometimes, you lose with this system, but I've only experienced it 1 out of 11 times and the loss was small, just 8 Euros, as I started with 20. Actually, this has given me some really nice profits, and very little losses, and thus little trouble, except of course for my sore ass and dry eyes of sitting there all the time. And what also is important to me, socializing with the other gamblers, getting free drinks, fruit and coffee and earning some money as well.
Well, if you have the time, the patience and a large pillow for your bony asses, just try this system once and let me know what you think of it ...

Greetz,

Hurretje from Holland

Unfortunately, it is not possible to bet on 2 out 3 end columns in the casinos I play.
