Every year, Santa Anita horse racing park opens on December 26th, and there are races until the end of April. From October to November they also have the Oak Tree Racing Association's Fall meeting. There are live races from Wednesday through Sunday, with gates opening at 10:30 am. Weekday races start at 1pm, and weekend races start at 12:30 pm. For the times when there are not live races, there are closed-circuit TV simulcasts of racing and food services for simulcast wagerers.

This 320 acre park has been a favorite with patrons for over 71 years. It has an 1,100-foot-long Grandstand that seats 26,000 guests. The park has 61 barns that can hold more than 2,000 horses, and a fully-staffed equine hospital.
