Seneca Gaming fortifies management team

Seneca Gaming Corp., which is losing its top executive next month, has reinforced its upper management with a series of appointments.

Joseph D'Amato, Seneca Gaming's senior vice president of finance and administration, has been named chief operating officer. D'Amato joined Seneca Gaming's in December 2002 after a stint at Resorts International Casino in Atlantic City. He has previously worked with the Trump Organization and Bally's Casinos.

"Joe has been an integral part of our management team and has helped us build a financially strong and successful company," said Barry Snyder Sr. Seneca Gaming chairman and president of the Seneca Nation of Indians. Seneca Gaming is the casino operations arm for the Indian tribe.

D'Amato will be the top official in Seneca Gaming's administrative functions when current president and CEO John Pasqualoni finishes his tenure next month. A national search is underway for Pasqualoni's replacement.

"Joe's appointment reflects the work he has put into building our operations and his ability to lead us during this time of transition," Snyder said.

D'Amato's appointment is one of three top-level administrative changes Seneca Gaming announced Friday morning.

The organization promoted Michael Speller from senior vice president of table games to senior vice president of gaming operations and Patrick Fox, Seneca Gaming's vice president of finance was named chief financial officer.

Seneca Gaming manages and operates the Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel in Niagara Falls and Seneca Allegany Casino in Salamanca and is building the Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino in downtown Buffalo.
