Casino news from http://www.wben.com/
The Seneca Nation of Indians says they will greatly scale-back their plans for a city casino, now that Mayor Byron Brown has cut-off negotiations over Fulton Street.
The Mayor says because the nation won't put in writing certain guarantees, such as jobs for residents and promises not to seek more land around the planned Buffalo Creek gaming hall, he had no choice but to take negotiations for Fulton Street off the table. The street runs through the parcels of land the Senecas now control for the casino, and they have sought control of it.
The Senecas yesterday fired back, saying instead of a 100,000 square foot casino, they will build one that is only 5,000 square feet.

Buffalo Council President David Franczyk, who wanted to charge the Seneca's $1-million a year for 99-years to lease Fulton Street, also weighs-in on the controversy. You can hear his discussion with John Zach and Susan Rose on Buffalo's Early News this morning, by clicking on that audio link above.
