Sydney (ANTARA News/Asia Pulse) - Trans-Tasman gaming company SkyCity Entertainment Group Ltd (ASX:SKC) has been chosen as the preferred tenderer to buy a site next to its Darwin casino. It comes after the current owner, the Northern Territory governmnent, carried out an expressions of interest process on the site, known as Little Mindil.
"Acquisition of the land ... will greatly assist SkyCity Darwin's ability to optimise utilisation of its existing site, as the company looks to expand the scale and range of attractions on offer in response to anticipated growth in demand into the future," SkyCity said today.
The Auckland-based company said negotiations would begin in the next few weeks to finalise a satisfactory development lease and eventual freehold ownership of the site.
