This keeps happening, and people don't seem to learn from it.
It happened recently in horse racing - with jockeys facing bail hearings later this year - and in 1997 (I think) Bruce Grobbelaar was accused of something similar in soccer (memorable for me, as he was a Liverpool goalkeeper when I was younger), although he was later cleared of it.
It makes me wonder - do people realise what the consequences could be if they're caught, and does it happen more than we realise, but very few actually get caught?
It wont make me stop betting, though. I do like to believe that the majority of sportsmen (and women) are actually honest and do strive to be the best at what they do.
