The American Subcontractors Association of New Mexico has named the Sandia Hotel at the Sandia Casino north of Albuquerque as the "Project of the Year" for 2005. The $90 million project, which was completed late last year, was built by McCarthy Building Companies. McCarthy also was nominated as "contractor of the year" and the project's superintendent, Paul DeCarlo, was nominated as "project superintendent of the year."
The seven-story, four-star hotel project was recognized, in part, for its "fast track" construction schedule, its use of high-end finishes and the economic impact it has on the area and the state, according to McCarthy Building.
The Sandia Hotel also includes three restaurants, a spa and a championship golf course and club house.
