Tampa casino gambles on expansion

Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, Tampa (file) TAMPA - Drivers on Interstate 4 may have noticed a lot of construction around the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino just east of Tampa.
No, they're not building a café, but they are expanding the casino -- by 50,000 square feet.
The addition will have space for 1,100 new games and 300 new employees will be hired next month. They're also adding a new steak and seafood restaurant.
The addition should be open by the end of the year.
