I am soon going to be in Macao. I wanted to ask if they already have Texas Hold em Tournaments or Tables in the Casinos?? If yes could you tell me which Casinos do provide Poker? And How much is normally the buy-in or blinds?

Hey Andelie, YES, they have lots of games in Macau, including poker (and texas holdem)

Australian-based PokerDome Group recently announced an agreement with the management and owners of the Diamond Casino in the Holiday Inn to open and operate the first permanent cash poker room in Macau, the first venue to operate cash games in the People's Republic of China.

November 20th is the target date for the cardroom to open.

It will feature eight tables, quickly increasing to 25-30 tables when another floor of the Casino is renovated, and will offer a range of games, including no limit and pot-limit hold'em games, and as required, seven-card stud, seven-card stud hi/lo, Omaha, Omaha hi/lo and other games (pending Government approval).

Thanks your help. But is the Macau Sporting Club not situated in Ireland?? I just had a look at the page, and the location is mentioned in Ireland. So the Diamond Casino is the only Casino which provides Poker Events in Macao?

This is the most complete article I have read on the subject and it was written in this month so it is fairly current. Apparently, Poker has not caught on to well yet in China as must of the players enjoy Baccarat as the most popular game.

Table games are much more popular there than in the USA for sure. So I would be willing to bet that there is Hold'em in the casinos. Even if its not really popular yet. I have not yet been to Macau but plan NYE there in 2008/2009 (top of the StarWorld casino, just to be sure we get a full taste!)
