The Tropicana brings the prehistoric ages back to life with “Dinosaurs 3D” in the IMAX Theatre, April 16

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (March 28, 2007) – Audiences will travel back in time as “Dinosaurs 3D” brings the prehistoric era alive on the IMAX screens. The Tropicana Casino and Resort will welcome the film “Dinosaurs 3D” on Monday, April 16 to the IMAX Theatre.

Narrated by Donald Sutherland, “Dinosaurs 3D” takes audiences on a journey into the world of the largest known dinosaurs and explores some of the greatest paleontological discoveries of modern time. Developed in close collaboration with the foremost scientists in the field, the movie will show never before seen computer generated footage of the Giganotosaurus and the Argentinosaurus in addition to other animals of the era.

Following Professor Rodolfo Coria, a world renowned Argentinian paleontologist, audiences visit sites of major discoveries he contributed to in Patagonia and travel back in time to see these amazing beasts come to life. Patagonia has given us the largest living animal to have ever walked the Earth: the titanesque plant-eating Argentinosaur, and its nemesis, the Giganotosaur, a bipedal carnivore, that could easily challenge the famous T-Rex.

Deeply rooted in science, the film carries the audience through the lives of two specimens of these superb achievements of evolution. The action is intense and the landscape is out of this world. At times, the camera takes us into space to witness the movement of the tectonic plates or the arrival of a comet that will seal the fate of the Dinosaurs.

As the movie leaves our Patagonian giants behind to jump forward to the end of this extreme chapter of Earth's history, we learn through science that although most species of their evolutionary branch have disappeared, the dinosaurs are still with us today. They are birds.

“Dinosaurs 3D” will be showing at the IMAX Theatre in the Tropicana Casino and Resort on the following daily schedule beginning April 16: Sunday through Thursday at 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Friday and Saturday at 2 p.m., 3 p.m., 7 p.m., 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. Please visit the IMAX Theatre website for a complete schedule. Tickets are priced at $11.95 and can be purchased at the IMAX Box Office or through Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster.com or via phone at 1.800.736.1420.
