Three directors and a vice director were caught red handed and arrested for illegal gambling Monday at their company headquarters in Hanoi.
The gamblers include Le Hong Minh, director of Vietnam Construction Technology Company; Pham Manh Cuong, vice director of the company; Nguyen Van Khang, director of Hoang Lien Son Company; and Le Van Ha, director of Dong Tam Company.

On receiving news of the gambling from locals, a squad of Hanoi’s Cau Giay district police secretly entered the fifth floor of a building on Pham Van Dong street, headquarters of Vietnam Construction Technology Company.

They discovered the four persons playing cards for money and seized VND100 million (US$6,250) and $600 in cash at the scene.

They also found VND78.5 million ($4,900) in Minh’s handbag.

Gambling is considered illegal and is strictly banned in Vietnam.
