Tribal casino could go dry

AGENCY VILLAGE, S.D. (AP) The Sisseton Wahpeton Sioux Tribe could lose the liquor licenses at its two casinos in a flap over nonpayment of state taxes.
The tribe has been given a one-month extension for renewal of those licenses at the Dakota Sioux Casino at Watertown and Dakota Connection Casino at Sisseton.
It's reported that the tribe has failed to pay state taxes on cigarettes and gas, and the South Dakota Revenue Department wants resolution of that issue before it'll O-K the liquor licenses.
An August 17th deadline has been set.
