RESORT TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Want to try your luck at the Little Traverse Bay of Odawa Indians' casino a year from now? Don't go looking for Victories.
The tribe plans to open a new gambling, dining and entertainment facility in Emmet County's Resort Township in June 2007. The Odawa Casino Resort will replace the smaller Victories Casino just south of Petoskey.
"Victories was meant to be a temporary facility," general manager Barry Milligan told the Petoskey News-Review. "It served us very well, and we want people to know it's a clean break, a new environment and a new look."
The tribe will phase out advertising for Victories while transferring employees and supplies to the new casino over the coming year. Billboards, letterheads, business cards and playing cards will have to be changed, casino spokeswoman Diane Bott said.
The tribe plans to hire about 250 new employees when the new casino opens.
