PALM SPRINGS, Calif. The Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians, which operates two casinos in the Coachella Valley, wants more slot machines.

The tribe is working to renegotiate its gambling compact with Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to boost the two-thousand slot machine limit for each tribe set in 1999.

Any new agreement between Schwarzenegger and the Agua Caliente would have to be ratified by the Legislature.
